Privacy Policy

DocForge AI is privacy-first: no accounts, no sign-up, and no server-side storage of your inputs. This page explains exactly what little data we touch and the controls you have.

Last updated: January 15, 2025

Information We Collect

DocForge AI is built to be privacy-first. We do not require you to create an account, sign up, or provide any personal information to use our tools. You can generate as many business proposals, SOPs, and job descriptions as you like without telling us who you are.

We do not collect:

  • Names, email addresses, or phone numbers
  • Account credentials (there are no accounts)
  • The specific text you type into the generator forms, beyond the short period required to send it to the AI model for processing
  • Generated document contents on our servers

The only data we may receive automatically is standard, anonymized request metadata (such as browser type, approximate region derived from IP, and the page requested) processed by our hosting provider and analytics tools, as described below.

How the AI Generation Works

When you click Generate, the form inputs you provided (company name, project details, tone, length, etc.) are sent securely to our backend, which forwards them to a third-party AI language model for processing. The AI returns a Markdown document, which we stream back to your browser.

We do not store your inputs on our servers. The request is processed in-memory for the duration of the generation and then discarded. We do not maintain a database of user prompts or generated documents.

The AI provider may retain inputs and outputs according to its own data retention policy. Please review the provider's privacy policy for details on how they handle data. We select providers that do not use customer inputs to train their public models.

Local Storage Usage

To make the tool genuinely useful without an account, your most recent generated documents (up to 12 per tool) are saved in your own browser's localStorage. This allows you to:

  • Quickly reload a previous document after refreshing the page
  • Copy or download a document without regenerating it
  • Compare different generations side by side

This data never leaves your device. It is not transmitted to our servers or any third party. You can clear this data at any time by:

  • Clicking the Clear history button inside each tool
  • Clearing your browser's site data for docforge-ai.example.com
  • Using your browser's "Clear browsing data" feature

Cookies and Tracking

DocForge AI itself does not set authentication or tracking cookies. However, the following technologies may be present on our pages:

  • Google AdSense cookies. As a free, ad-supported site, we display ads served by Google AdSense. AdSense and its partners may use cookies (including the __gads cookie and similar) to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites, and to measure the performance of ads.
  • Analytics cookies. If enabled, anonymous analytics tools may use cookies to aggregate page-view statistics. We use this only to understand which pages are useful, not to identify individuals.
  • Local storage for theme and history. Your dark/light theme preference and recent document history are stored in localStorage, not in cookies.

You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings at any time. Disabling cookies will not prevent you from using the AI tools, but ads may be less relevant and theme preference will not persist between sessions.

Third-Party Services

We rely on the following third-party services to operate:

  • Google AdSense. Displays advertisements on our pages. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visit and/or other internet activity. See Google's Ads policy and Google's Privacy Policy.
  • AI language model provider. Processes your document-generation requests. Inputs are sent to this provider transiently for the duration of the request.
  • Hosting and CDN provider. Serves the website, handles TLS termination, and may log standard request metadata (IP address, user agent, timestamp) for security and abuse prevention.

We do not sell your data to anyone, and we do not share your data with third parties for their own marketing purposes.

Children's Privacy

DocForge AI is intended for professionals, founders, hiring managers, and operations teams. The service is not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.

Your Rights

You have the following rights with respect to your data:

  • Clear local history. Because your generated documents are stored only in your browser, you can erase them at any moment by clearing localStorage or your browser data.
  • Opt out of personalized ads. Visit Google Ads Settings to opt out of interest-based advertising, or install the Digital Advertising Alliance opt-out plugin.
  • Disable cookies. Use your browser settings to block all cookies, including AdSense cookies. The AI tools will still work.
  • Request information. Because we don't maintain user accounts, we typically have no personal data tied to you. If you believe otherwise, contact us and we will respond within 30 days.

If you are located in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or California, you may have additional rights under GDPR or CCPA, including the right to access, rectify, or delete personal data, and the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

Data Retention

Server-side logs (containing anonymized request metadata) are retained for up to 90 days for security and abuse-prevention purposes, then automatically purged. We do not retain your document-generation inputs or outputs on our servers beyond the duration of the request.

Your locally stored document history persists in your browser until you clear it. We may cap the number of items stored per tool (currently 12) and automatically remove the oldest items when the limit is reached.

Updates to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technologies, or legal requirements. When we do, we will revise the Last updated date at the top of this page.

For material changes that affect how we handle your data, we will provide a more prominent notice (such as a banner on the homepage) for a reasonable period before the change takes effect. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
